Canned Tomato Salsa

Serves: 8


  • 2 cans diced tomatoes (14.5-oz each)
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup green pepper, diced
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 Tbs lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 3 Tbs chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)


  1. Put all the ingredients in a blender or food processor.
  2. Pulse until the salsa is as smooth as you like it. Scrape down with a spatula as necessary.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning, if needed.
  4. Refrigerate. The flavors will combine as the salsa chills.
